GALLERY DISPLAYS

All Gallery displays are FREE.

The changing programme of displays provides fresh opportunities to discover the Gallery’s rich and varied collections. The displays highlight a range of themes, sitters and artists, as well as significant anniversaries and acquisitions.

Dont miss your last chance to see the following displays:

Mick Jagger

Until 27 November
Twenty images of Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones by Cecil Beaton, Michael Cooper, Michael Joseph, Colin Jones, Gered Mankowitz and Terry O’Neill chart Jagger’s iconic appeal.

Only Connect
Until 27 November
Only Connect is a visual experiment, exploring new ways of looking at portraiture. A ‘web’ of musical connections links sitters across three centuries, comprising paintings, sculpture, photographs and engravings.

Picturing History: A Portrait set of Early Kings and Queens
Until 4 December

A remarkable set of portraits reveals the problems faced by artists as they attempted to create ‘authentic’ images of monarchs for whom there were no surviving portraits taken from life.
